Who We Are
Founded in 2000, Asuda is a women’s rights organization dedicated to ending violence against women and girls across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Through our centers in (Sulaymaniyah, Halabjah, Ranya, and Baghdad) and our mobile teams, we work to protect, empower, and advocate for those affected by violence, ensuring their rights are upheld and their voices are heard.

Our Mission
Asuda is committed to the empowerment of women and girls and works to combat violence against women and girls by advocating for their rights and providing quality multi-sectoral responses for survivors of violence.
What We Do
Psychosocial Support
We provide confidential, survivor-centered mental health services, including one-on-one counseling, peer support group therapy, and awareness sessions. Our aim is to help women and girls process trauma, rebuild self-esteem, and develop coping strategies in a safe environment.
Legal Aid
Our legal team offers free legal counseling and full court representation to survivors of gender-based violence. We help navigate complex legal systems, ensuring that survivors are aware of their rights and can pursue justice without fear or financial barriers.
Advocacy & Awareness
We organize public seminars, community workshops, and awareness campaigns to challenge harmful social norms, promote equality, and influence policy reforms. Our advocacy work engages communities, decision-makers, and media to amplify the voices of women and girls.
Economic Empowerment
We equip women with vocational skills, job placement support, and small business training to help them achieve financial independence. Economic empowerment is key to breaking cycles of violence and reducing vulnerability to abuse.
Emergency Cash Assistance
We provide rapid financial relief to survivors facing immediate hardship, enabling them to cover urgent needs such as livelihood, rent, or cover medical expenses. This support offers a critical lifeline during crisis situations.
Medical Referrals
Through our trusted partner network, we connect survivors to essential healthcare services, including psychiatrist, medical examinations, treatment for injuries, and specialized care. All referrals are made with confidentiality and respect for survivor choice.
