Asuda Organization, in partnership with the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), held an open discussion on “Reasons for the Exclusion of Women from Decision-Making Roles and Processes.” The event brought together political leaders, academics, government representatives, activists, and civil society organizations.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Khanim Latif, President of Asuda Organization, highlighted the barriers to women’s participation in decision-making and introduced the “It’s Time for Iraqi Women” initiative, outlining its mission, vision, and key activities.
Participants then discussed pressing issues, including women’s electoral participation, defamation campaigns, marginalization from decision-making, strategies to enhance political engagement, and challenges to women’s media presence. The session concluded with recommendations emphasizing stronger coordination and collective action to expand women’s leadership and opportunities in future elections.

نظّمت منظمة أسودة، بالشراكة مع رابطة النساء الدولية للسلام والحرية، جلسة نقاشية مفتوحة بعنوان: “أسباب إقصاء النساء من أدوار وعمليات صنع القرار.” وقد جمعت الجلسة قيادات سياسية، وأكاديميين، وممثلين عن الجهات الحكومية، وناشطات، ومنظمات المجتمع المدني.
في كلمتها الافتتاحية، سلّطت السيدة خانم لطيف، رئيسة منظمة أسودة، الضوء على العوائق التي تواجه مشاركة النساء في صنع القرار، وكرئيسة المبادرة، قدّمت مبادرة “حان الوقت لنساء العراق”، موضحة رسالتها ورؤيتها وأبرز أنشطتها.
تطرّق النقاش بعد ذلك إلى قضايا ملحّة، شملت مشاركة النساء في الانتخابات والفرص المتاحة أمامهن والتحديات التي تعيق ترشّحهن، وحملات التشهير ضدهن، وتهميشهن في مواقع صنع القرار، إلى جانب استراتيجيات تعزيز مشاركتهن السياسية، والتحديات التي تواجه حضور المرأة في الإعلام. واختُتمت الجلسة بعدد من التوصيات التي أكّدت على ضرورة تعزيز التنسيق والعمل الجماعي لتوسيع دور النساء القيادي وضمان فرص أوسع لهن في الاستحقاقات الانتخابية المقبلة.
