Collaborative Dialogue on Reforming the Domestic Violence Law: Insights from Civil Society and Government Stakeholders

Asuda Organization, in coordination with the General Directorate for Combating Violence Against Women and Family, organized an open discussion conference in Erbil under the title: “Discussions on the Strengths and Weaknesses of the Domestic Violence Law Through Coordination Between Relevant Administrations and Civil Society Organizations”

The conference featured an open and participatory dialogue during which stakeholders shared insights, comments, and recommendations for amending the current law. The discussions emphasized the need for substantial legal reforms to ensure greater inclusion, enhanced protection, and comprehensive support for survivors of violence. The session concluded with a set of actionable recommendations to be directed to the relevant authorities for consideration and implementation.
